Robert's Story

Well, after 45 years I am getting around to telling you what has been happening over the years. After Tech, I attended Lackawanna Jr. Business College for 2 years, graduated, and then transferred to Bethel College in Tennessee. I graduated in March of 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a minor in Business Admin. Immediately upon graduation I moved to Texas and started working as an accountant for the City of San Antonio, TX. After getting some excellent governmental experience under my belt, I applied for a federal job and was hired in 1977 (Houston, TX) as an Internal Revenue Agent for the Internal Revenue Service. I served as an agent auditing tax returns of individuals, corporations, banks, and partnerships for 10 years. I then transferred to Austin, TX. starting a career in management. This lasted for another 17 years. In 2004 I then requested and transferred out of management to work as a senior program analyst for the IRS, setting up programs internally to the organization. I finally hung up my credentials in March 2011 after a career of 34 years and am relaxing and enjoying the remaining golden years. Relaxation was not in my best interest after 1 year of retirement, so I then found a part time job as a night auditor for a local hotel about 2 miles from my home (never to fight the traffic anymore). It has been keeping me pretty busy for 3 nights a week. Now we (Trish and myself have been doing some on the side ranching. We have been in the sheep raising business with about 15 head right now as we started off with 35 head. So it is anything other than quiet around the Zee residence. I have...Expand for more
traveled to Hawaii 4 times (beautiful there) and Alaska twice (Ah.....beautiful there too). I love to travel and have visited the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada many times. My next adventure is making it over to my ancestry country of Lithuania. Plans are in process for next year or two (2014 /2015). I have made it to our 45th class reunion and visited with many of my old friends that I have not seen in some 45 to 50 years ago. I am trying to get the old group of neighborhood friends together for another reunion. Trying to get them to buy into a cruise to the Caribbean. Any takers, let me know. On other matters, I am married to a Texas gal going on 32 years 1-1-2014 and have 4 grown children (all boys to keep the name going). Along with that, there are 4 grandchildren...... 2 boys and 2 loverly girls. My 3rd son John Eric will be getting marries to a nurse on Jan.1 2014. So the hits just keep on coming (so to speak). As a kid way back in the 60's my dreams were to ride motorcycles, especially "Triumph motorcycles." Well as my second childhood has come about, I finally made it possible and am now a proud owner of a Triumph. Along with my son Eric age 27, (who has also purchased a Triumph) we are now enjoying cruising the highways and bi-ways of the Texas roads. I am saddened to the fact that after he is married, we will not be riding as much as he will have his life as a pilot to keep up with. Bringing back the memories of our class of 67' I can attest that those were some great years in my life with some very special friends. I hope all are well and enjoying the golden years as I am enjoying mine. Until we meet again, Zee
