Robert's Story

After high school, I attended Iowa State University and obtained a mechanical engineering degree. I worked in the oil industry for thirty years and also started buying rental homes. When I turned fifty five I quit work and started building custom homes As you might have guessed that did not turn out great and I lost a lot of money. Fortunately I had done well in the stock market and with rental properties. I tried engineering again, but kept getting laid off. Now I am living off the rental property income and I am starting another business that I am excited about. I married Susan Berger, a 71 West High graduate and we are still married...Expand for more
. I have two daughters and three great grandkids. I love them all. I have exercised much of my life which has included lifting weights, running, tennis, racketball, and rugby. My latest thing is P90X, If you do not know what that is turn on the informatials on late night tv. I enjoy being with the family the most. The most fun I have had is white water rafting and scuba diving. I also enjoy driving my Harley motorcycle. Life has been challenging, but rewarding at the same time. I have good health. I'm not as good looking as I used to be, but am still in good shape and have my hair. Overall I cannot complain. Life has been good.
