Robert's Story

Life After high school, I went to the University of Pennsylvania from which I graduated in 1975. Just after graduation, I married my wife, Diane, who graduated from Penn at the same time. We moved to Pittsburgh where I attended law school at Pitt. I worked in Pittsburgh for one year after graduating from law school and then, in 1979, we moved to Easton, Maryland, a small town on Maryland's Eastern Shore, where Diane grew up. We still live in Easton and I still work at the same law firm (Miles & Stockbridge) that I started with in 1979. Diane and I have three children. Gina is 23 and out of college. She works at kids outdoor camps, mostly as a sailing instructor. Cara and Michael are our 21 year old twins. Both are juniors in college, Cara at Roanoke College and Michael at Washington and Lee University. Diane and I enjoy visiting our kids and we love to travel. Our son Mike went to school in London last summer so Diane and I spent 10 days there with him. Our daughter Cara is going to spend next semester in Australia and we are going there with her in February for the first two weeks of her stay. For fun, I really love to be outdoors, probably because my work keeps me indoors so much. The area where we live is flat and surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. It is a great place for running (jogging in my case), bicycling and flat water kayaking all of which I do regulary. It is also great for hunting and fishing. I did a lot of waterfowl hunting for many years but have lost in...Expand for more
terest in it once my son went to college. I don't have a fishing boat but go about ten times a year with friends who do. I love and miss the mountains so I try to get to them as often as possible. My favorite outdoor activity is to hike in the mountains. Fortunately, there are beautiful mountains surrounding the towns in which my twins go to college so our visits to them usually include at least one hike. I also usually get to go down hill or cross country skiing a couple of times each winter. As I mentioned, Diane grew up in the area in which we live and all of her family still live here. One of her sisters lives in the same neighborhood as we do. Her other sister and her brother live on houses that have been built on portions of the farm on which Diane grew up and on which her parents still live. We often see and spend time with Diane's family. We visit the Pittsburgh area a couple of times a year to visit family. My stepmother, my brother, Rick, and a step brother and step sister live in the Pittsburgh area. I also have aunts, uncles and cousins who live in and around Monongahela. I think about high school often and would like to hear from and see old friends. The only folks I see are Dave and Kathy Papak. I also hear from Jeff Sasko from time to time. Sorry for being so long winded. A lot happened in the last 36 years. Workplace I am a partner in the law firm of Miles & Stockbridge where I have worked since 1979. If interested there is more information on the firm's web site.
