Robert's Story
Left Taft and that November went into the Navy. Became a combat photographer. During that stent, I was onboard the USS John F. Kennedy and visited my brother who was stationed in Mannheim, Germany.
After returning to stateside, I returned to the Navy Combat Camera Group in San Diego when I was asked if I would volunteer for duty with the Navy Seals as a technical photographer with SEAL Team One. h pride in that at that time, very little was known about the Seals. Most Navy heard of UDT, but being the Seals were a very young but lethal group, I wanted to know more. Little did I know at the time that they were the most lethal military organization in the world. I served with them proudly until 1970 when I got transferred to NAS Cecil Field in Jacksonville, FL. Was there until September 1971 when I was discharged.
I went back to New York and worked as a Railroad electrician.
