Robert's Story
Graduated, ELAC two years, began work, bought new Ford Fairlane 500, worked at Western Electric, drafted into Army - served in Berlin, Germany, overseas separation, remained in Berlin, learned German language, married, daughter born, worked two years, returned to USA. More work over 23 years, economy got bad (merger #1) changed employer, more work over 15 years, daughter married, 2 children; economy got worse (merger #2), Medicare, retirement in sight - time to go - RETIRED! no cats, no dogs, Look for interesting volunteer activity, trained as docent at Southwest Museum 2 years (merger #3), write haiku, was volunteer with stained glass business. Donate blood platelets at City of Hope. Hike with Sierra Club. Try to stay active and healthy. Would like to take French language lessons - my best subject at Garfield High School.

of basic french at Alliance Francaise; enrolled for a second semester. I remember quite a lot from high school days - Mr. Kess would be pleased. I completed the second semester of french language. I am still remembering much from high school french.
February 2012: Completed the fourth semester of french language at Alliance. Now, the grammar exercises require more effort to complete homework assignments. In class the emphasis is on conversation ability - das ist gar nicht so einfach (oops, wrong language)
2013 - To anyone who cares: I am still, currently, married for the past 50 years!
2014 - ...still walking uphill and down (Sierra Club) ... and counting my stars at Starbucks ... Year end - no more walking, no more donations, no tours, no classes.
2015 - Learned new vocabulary:
2016 - Still accumulating stars and enjoying Pike Place.
