As part of this engagement, I trained IBEW electricians to work on electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic & nuclear instrumentation. Author of technical articles and co-author of a set of Electrical & Instrumentation textbooks. The texts are study guides for nationally-portable E&I certification exams, required by law, to work on certain life-critical & environmentally-sensitive "Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition Systems." Instructed both Electronics & Physics classes for Mountwest Comm & Tech College and Solid-State Electronics for ITT Technical Institute. I'm an Emeritus Member of the West Virginia Academy of Science. In 1982, I was appointed "West Virginia Ambassador of Science & Engineering." In 1988, I was inducted into the West Junior High School Hall of Fame. I have two sons, both IBEW electricians/supervisors and a daughter who is a dental hygienist. I have been active in ham radio, hunting, fishing, boating, pickleball, martial arts and country dancing since leaving high school. Semi-retired in 2011. Still doing occasional consulting and dabbling in "esoteric science" research as Fischer Technical Services, a part-time "applied science & engineering" business I founded in 1979.
