Robert's Story
Funny, how time flies. I really haven't thought about high school much except for maybe 5 friends in which I've kept in contact with. We also wound up going to the same college so the connection is more than just high school. I wasn't a very popular guy, in fact looking back I would probably consider myself a bit of a loner. I was on the water polo & swim team, but never really fit in with a crowd. I did enjoy a lot of my classmates, but only to become acquaintances. Saying hello or good morning and then being on their way. Most classmates were very nice & friendly. Some, were not so nice , but that was long ago and I don't wish to be vindictive or negative. Interesting enough, some of the people I knew in high school, I have known since 1st grade. And yet, we never became friends. I find this odd. le and yet you don't even speak to one another in the hallway. We are a strange society.
I'm now reaching into my 60's. So many challenges have been lost & won. Next July 27, it will be 20 years of being cancer free. 2 of my siblings are also free of this deadly disease. I have a wonderful family, friends and the city of Seattle has been good to me. I started out as a teacher, then left and went into communications. I feel very blessed. It saddens me when I see a name on the deceased list. Even if I only knew that person from a class we had been in together or just occasionally HI said in the hallway.
My hope is that ALL my classmates are doing well and that life has been good to them. A lot of you I didn't get to know, but that doesn't mean we haven't experience the same things in life or school. Good Luck to you ALL and BLESSED BE...
