Bob's Story

After high school, I attended the Univ. of Florida, served in the military, and then compleed my BS degree at FSU, and my MS degree from Eastern Kentucky University. I retired in 2002 from the Alachua County Sheriff's Office after a career of 36 years. In 2002, I returned to some of my family roots near Troy, Alabama in search of new challenges, and to meet new friends. It's not in my nature to just sit around. The City of Troy, and Troy University, reminds me of Gainesville in the 1950s. I live 11 miles from Troy, and have three Tennessee Walking Horses. I love to travel and see new places. My favorite places I've been to are Ireland and Scotland. I've always been interested in history. I have been involved in living...Expand for more
history for about 27 years, portraying several periods of American history. I am very active in that hobby, traveling over several states, usually with my horses. I have also taken part in the filming of about 15 movies for television and theater. In 2007, I published a book on a Confederate cavalry unit, and am now working on another book. I have also published a number of articles over the years. I currently own a military museum in Troy, Alabama, covering World War I to Iraqi Freedom. I have two grown sons, and four grandchildren. I just acquired 17.5 acres in middle Tennessee in Tennessee Walking horse country. This gives me another project to work on, and another place to "escape" to when I feel like going there.
