Robert's Story
Life
I am happily married to a wonderful woman who grew up in Detroit, and we have a lovely daughter. Sarah turned four earlier this year.
We briefly had two children, but Isabel Joy, born 14 weeks early on Feb. 18, was too small to survive. She weighed 1 pound 1 ounce. Two days after she was born, she developed massive bleeding in her brain which led to swelling and massive brain damage. She died on Feb. 22.
Workplace
Since graduating from the University of Houston in 1996, I have worked as a newspaper reporter ...Expand for more
in several cities.
I started out in Victoria (about two hours south of Houston), writing about county government, healthcare, education and computers.
From there, I went to Jackson, Miss. where I covered technology, telecommunications and the auto industry. In Jackson, I covered WorldCom for several years, up to and including its collapse.
After Mississippi, I spent four years in Louisville, Ky., covering the auto industry.
In March, I moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where I cover Ford, General Motors, Chrysler and Honda.
