Robert's Story
Life
One week after graduation from TR I went into the USAF and worked as a jet engine mechanic in Panama City FL and Okinawa Japan.
Graduated 1985 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach FL with a BS in engineering and commissioned a 2nd lieutenant in the USAF.
1985 moved to Sacramento CA, graduated from Navigator school and Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO) school. 1987 flew as an EWO aboard the RC-135 Rivet Joint electronic reconnaissance plane based at Offutt AFB in Omaha NE. Yearly deployments included Okinawa Japan, Fairbanks Alaska, Mildenhall England, Athens Greece, and Las Vegas Nevada. Participated in Desert Shield (1990) and Desert Storm (1991) while deployed to Saudi Arabia.

1996-02 McDonnell Douglas (bought by Boeing 1997) payloads contract at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). I let Boeing pay for my MS in engineering management (1999) from UCF.
2003-Present I work for United Space Alliance (USA), the prime contractor for Space Shuttle Operations at KSC.
Married in 1991 and have one daughter (2004), and another one on the way due in August 2007. Got bored after I finished the MS degree, so I took drum lessons in 2000-01. Played drums in a local classic rock band in 2002. That was a lot of fun but with the baby coming (then) noise was an issue and I no longer had time for gigs. Currently learning guitar and this is going well. I still take photos every chance I get, and prefer the simplicity of digital compared to prints.
