Robert's Story

Hi: Everybody, After graduation in 1970 I went to work with NYS Gov't,attended HVCC in the eve's and got a degree in Acct. I married in 1972, my first marriage lasted 22 years, and produced 4 children, one son, and three dau's. For those who remember, I continued to play the drums and sax in bands on weekends for many years, doing clubs, weddings and party's. My first wife and I divorced in 1994. I remarried to my lovely wife Colleen in Jan. 2004. Colleen graduated from Queensbury H.S. class of 1972. I lost my only son Rob in a tragic accident in May 2003. He was just 30 at the time. Colleen has been a rock of love and support for me. You never get over loosing a child. I retired from NYS in 2007. I now have 9 grandchildren and yes 4 great grand children, all this at the tender young age of 59. LOL!!! I still love music, and recently bought a set of drums, and getting together with a couple of guys, hopefully to get gigging again.. Colleen and I travel frequently. We own a time share and it comes in handy. We're heading to Florida for a wk's vac. the last wk. in April. We live in Hartford N.Y. which is northeast of Glens Falls. Colleen and I had a blast at my 40th THS reunion last Sept 2010. I was sooo happy to see former classmates and friends I haven't seen in yrs. I have a page on FB so feel free to hook up as friends. I share my home with Rascal our dog, which I find challenging.LOL!!!. I still like wearing jeans and dressing down as much as possible. My best friend would tell you I'm the life of the party, but people who don't k...Expand for more
now me very well would probably describe me as laid back.. If I had one do-over it would be to slow down and not be in a hurry for things to happen. My current age is 58. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be over the hill. I was so completely wrong. In 10 years, I hope to be more energetic then I am now. . I'm going to get there by being more health conscious. I hope old friends remember me as fun loving to be with and always a listening ear and caring heart. I always wanted to be a rock star playing drums in a name band when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a little over zealous idea. As it turns out, they were right. When I get stressed, I run, then listen to some of my favorite music. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have confidence, understanding, and not sweat the small stuff to be able to deal with the day-to-day routine. I lived in the greater northeast area most of my life, however in 2002 and 2003 I lived in So. CA. I love my beloved Yankees and so happy they finally got that elusive 27th championship. You never know what God has in store for you, therefore take each day as a gift and make the most of it. Kids and grandkid's are very inovative and need to be understood, that is sooo important. I would love to see Mr. De Carlo again. He was my homeroom teacher for my 4 years at THS. In last period on Fri's he would let me listen to my favorite Cream album ("Wheels of Fire") and I'm sure I drove him crazy by tapping my hands on the desk to the sounds of the "Crossroads." LOL!!!
