Robert's Story
Bobby Tovey. I worked at the Chas. Naval Shipyard, apprentice pipe fitter , on submarines, next, I enlisted in the U.S.A.F. I was in Ground Radio Maint. I was stationed in Biloxi, Miss, 1yr., The Phillipiens, 1&1/2 yrs, the U.S.A.F Academy, Colo., 4yrs. Assigned to the U.S. Secret Service Protective Forces, for the 1972 Presidential Election. I was then assigned to Iceland, for a year.I then returned to Chas., lived, with my wife and daughter, on Church St.. During my 8 yrs. in the Air Force, I took courses from the U.S.Armed Forces Institute, and Capital Radio Engineering Institute,earning an Associates Degree, in Communications Engineering. e Radiation Therapy department. This led to a job with Siemens Corp., as a systems engineer in Radiation Therapy. Several schools, and years later, employed by Siemens , I ended up being a Senior Systems Engineer, with Siemens. I installed and maintained ; Medical Linear Accelerators, Cardiac Cath Labs, X-ray Special Proceedure rooms, CAT Scanners, and X-Ray rooms.
I retired, from Siemens, in 1996, after a head on collision disabled me.
I'm a musician, guitar &Bass, an artist, Oil, Acrylics, and Water colors. My paintings range in size, from 3X4 ft, oil & acrylic, down to miniature watercolors, 2 1/2 X 3 inches..
I'm currently building a '50 Chevy pickup hot rod ; Chevy 350 powered.
