Robert's Story
Life
After High School, I moved to Rochester, NY and worked for a printing company for 2 years. I didn't know what to do with my life, but I did know I needed something more. In Jan86, I moved to the Boston area in search of a better life, and guess what? I found it!
In 1988, I met Sheila Flaherty, and in 1990 we were married near the ocean (something I had never seen until I was 17, imagine that?)In Aug94 our daughter Shannon came into our lives. It was an incredible experience, and to this day has only been paralleled by one other experience,the birth of our son Ryan in 98.
For the past 21 years, I have been working for a large Medical Imaging Corp. I enrolled in Umass LowellÂs Mechanical Engineering Program, and between working full time, and studying PT, I earned a BSME degree. I am now a Project Engineer working on the design of CT Scanners (medical), and Security Imaging Equipment(3D airline baggage scanners)

bought our house in 1996, in a NW suburb of Boston and settled down. We spend alot of time bringing our kids to soccer, piano lessons, and swim lessons. We also recently bought a dog (Madison), so it's now like we have 3 kids!
We haved traveled quite a bit, all over the US, Canada, and Ireland. We want out kids to experience the vastness of this world.
After all of that, most of my free time goes into hiking and climbing mountains, which has become my passion in life. Over the past 17 years, I have climbed over 800 peaks, and about 1/3 of those in winter, when mountains are the most challenging. You truly feel alive when you are above treeline in -10 degrees F, with 60mph winds and -70 wind chills (better than any foolish drug you could ever take as a teenager). In June 04, I lived one of my dreams by summiting Mt McKinley. In Dec05, I am attempting Aconcagua in Argentina. The highest mountain in the Western Hemiphere.
