Roberta's Story
Life
I live in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. I moved here alone in 2008. I didn't want to be sitting in my rocking chair saying I wish I would have. I am so very happy here. I bought a small house and have a cocker spaniel. It is so great to be able to walk or take a bus everywhere I go. I have made wonderful friends down here. It is almost always warm I love the hot muggy climate. There is always something to do down here and the living is very inexpensive. The food is great and the people as well. to relive my youth in Chico as there is always a fiesta going on. Thought I was too old but not so. My spanish is pretty good so I am able to communicate with the people. I am 20 minutes from the ocean and there are many cenotes to swim in-- as underground rivers travers the yucatan. I couldn't have been luckier in choosing a place to live. I spread the map and pointed and went. I love new adventures. I am still single and very content. I do miss my kids and grandchildren but such is life. I fly back as often as I can.
