Robin's Story
Life
As Caroline so adequately stated, 4000 characters is not the measure of a life bio. I married, cloned myself in my first-born daughter, brought a budding author into the world via my son, pursued a music career, then divorced. I toyed around with moving to Nashville to work full-time for my producer, then up and fell in love with someone who lives in Florida. I drug that out for over a year before giving up the ghost and moving to the Gulf. So I re-married (which is working out quite nicely, thank you very much) and acquired a business, a step-daughter, and a lovely vacation spot with all the sand and Pina Colada's I could ever hope for.
School
How funny that "I wouldn't do HS again" is an option! I don't think I took anything too seriously, and though I didn't coast along, it didn't seem too terribly important to do anything but survive it. I was a band geek, a theater freak, and self-proclaimed choir diva, a "punker", and a member of the lesser class. I didn't hate it, but I don't think there's much about it I would re-do. I made some life-long pals (that much is good) and learned ...Expand for more
some important lessons along the way (as did we all) so there are no regrets... though I wouldn't mind doing the Rizzo thing one more time ;) And what I wouldn't give to sit in Calc with Tony Sanburn and Joel Pugh, singing Duran Duran songs and watching Joel doodle on my folder.
College
So, we're nearing our 20th class reunion, and I'm a junior in college. How about a round of applause for procrastination? I did a semester at IU after graduation, but I was truly burnt out and decided to take a year off. One year became several years and before I knew it I was knee-deep in family life, and not interested in pursuing "whatever it was I should be doing with my life." Last year I got started with the basic undergrad requirements, and next semester I start doing clinicals for the Respiratory Therapist gig.
Workplace
I work for the fabulous governor of Florida... and which ever one signs my paycheck is the one I like best. It sounds really cool when I say, "I'm a court reporter for the State of Florida," but in all actuality I'm a typing monkey with benefits. At least for two more years.
