From 1972 up to 1979???....sorry it was just a blurrrr!? Jan 1, 1979, I moved in with my sis-in-law to help take care of my very 1st nephew Rick. Around July 1979, someone ran into my vehicle and thus began my insurance career. Yes, my career in the insurance business started with an "accident". I worked in Wildwood & Vero Beach on the agency side of the business, then moved to Alabama and worked with an insurance company in claims while putting my husband through law school. Around 1985 moved to NC to be closer to my family and have not left NC since 1985. I lived in the Triangle Area in both Chapel Hill and Durham. The Triangle area is the hot bed of the state of NC. After working another 7 years on the agency side, I was offered a wonderful opportunity to work as the Risk Manager of Duke University. I worked at Duke for 9 years and loved my job but the high pressured corporate environment started to get to me so about 3 1/3 years ago, I ran away to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina where I dropped about 20 lbs of stress.
