Robin's Story
I moved from Staten Island to Pennsylvania in 1983 . In 1987 I met my husband and things were great. We both have our own businesses. He is a Chiropractor and I am a corporate and residential interior/exterior designer. I have a son who is 17 1/2 and a daughter who is 15. In 1994 I lost my mom and my best friend. She died of cancer at the young age of 51. Trying to cope with that loss was really difficult and then 2 years ago my 35 year old baby brother Lance was killed on his motorcycle on his way home. There are no words to describe how devastating this was to our family. He was a professional rider and rode with the NASEB racing group. On his way home he was struck by a car. My life has been turned upside down. I try to hold onto that I was the luckiest person to have had the best mom and a brother I looked up to and admired. hen I could have ever imagined.....I am not sure if some of you remember I missed my junior year due to back surgery. That really sucked!!! Being in a full body cast wasn't exactly the highlight of that year either. My senior year I came back and was really looking forward to seeing everybody. My friends were waiting outside the auto wing with a bottle of Boones Farm Strawberrry Wine to celebrate my return except it didn't last long because the dean and the principal saw all of us and everybody ran. So, left standing there were me and the Boones Farm Wine and a phone call home saying I was suspended. I was back in school for only 10 minutes. I hated wine then and still do. Since then I had to have another back surgery. I try really hard to try and stay positive although with everything that has happened it is not easy. I am really looking foward to hearing from some old friends.
