Robin's Story
Life
well, been pretty busy: i am now an interpretive park ranger on the north rim of the grand canyon, prior to that i was a principal of 2 schools (k-6) and (7-12) in a small river rafting community in the idaho mountains along the salmon river. before that i was a principal/asst. principal/teacher on the navajo rez for 8 years and earning my master's degree at NAU. before that i was a teacher in alaska where i lived for approx. another 8 years. i graduated with a bachelor's degree from UAA and did 'odd jobs' while working my way through college... like working at the university taking care of lab frogs, directing airplanes (large and small) in the middle of the night, during the winter in below freezing temps, teaching downhill skiing, working on a driftnet salmon boat in bristol bay wher...Expand for more
e we caught a floating dead guy, owning and running a halibut fishing charter boat out of homer alaska....and on and on and on. busy busy busy and loving it!
i am not married and do not have any kids but i do have 2 dogs... navajo terriers (rez mutts). as i am writing this it is snowing, we have gotten about 3 feet in the last 3 days. there are between 2 and 8 people who live here in the winter. spent the day shoveling, skiing, and snowmobiling. we have about a 2-4 hour (depending on the conditions) snowmobile ride out of the park to get to our vehicles that are parked at jacob lake, from there it is about a 4 hour drive to flagstaff. usually after the snow we have many of days sun and skiing while looking at this big beautiful hole in the ground... woo hoo! Can't complain about that.
