Robin's Story
I have been living in the NW corner of Oregon since July 1977, escaped the crowds and smog of the San Gabriel Valley. I've been married for 37 years, 2 sons and I granddaughter who's 2. Luckily, I live on 5 acres where I have a paint mare to work and ride...pond and timber....2 pointers and a full house of street rods.
I worked in the Sawmill industry and my husband owned and operated a steel fabrication facility for 20 years before retiring in 2006. Now, Don builds upper class street rods - we spend our summers cruising and showing the cars he's built for us. Lots of people our age in this hobby - Saturdays full of rock and roll, BBQ, beautiful cars and lots of fun loving people.
Have visited back in the southland most years until my Mother passed Jan 09....I've only returned twice to visit friends. Mostly have them visit Oregon and the beauty ...Expand for more
of the big trees, rivers, lakes, snow capped mountains and of course the rain which is the reason it is so beautiful.
To stay active, I returned to work as a bookkeeper for our local Veterinary Hospital. What a great field to be in - lots of loved pets to see and help with. Plus, helps me to care for our animals until 2014.
Love going to Hawaii each year....last year swam out and hung out with the dolphins, that was amazing. I'm blessed, thankful for my life style and can't believe I'm writing this at 57! Someone 57 was OLD! I'm not, are you?....10 years later 2021.
Now at 67 yrs yikes!.....and realizing it's been 50 years since many of our lives connected. Good to know so many have reached social security age and can enjoy. Still in love with Oregon, except the political stance of our government.....bless each one with a smile.... Robin '21
