Robin's Story
Life
I am currently working as a consultant in the healthcare IT field. I have two beautiful kids. Sean and Caitlin, both grown and living on their own and each of them has blessed me with a total of four beautiful grandchildren.
I have bachelors degrees in Microbiology, Medical Technology and Management/Computer Information Systems. I love to travel and pretty much am always planning my next vacation. I get back to St. Johns every year as I still have family there.
I am always trying to sneak in a vacation. Now that I live in Florida, I go to Sanibel Island and Key West a lot, I have taken getaway weekends in Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach and have done the Disney thing a couple of times, too. There are so many great places to go in Florida, so little time. Sigh.... Thanks goodness I am less than 10 minutes from Siesta Key! That's a nice mini-vacation whenever I want.
College
I attended Graceland University from the fall of 1975 until January of 1980. I graduated with a B.S in Microbiology. I went back and completed an internship in Medical Technology at Research Medical Center in Kansas City and received another B.S in Medical Technology from Graceland University in January of 1983. I graduated from Park University in Independence,MO with a B.S in Management/Computer Information Systems in May 2006.

rmation systems to get them ready to meet the meaningful use criteria for electronic health records as mandated by HHS.
Until August of 2010 I was working as a senior systems analyst for HCA West Florida Division in the IT&S department. In 2004 I completed my part in a large software implementation project that involved replacing every single software system at 10 Kansas City area hospitals owned by the HCA Midwest Division. I have worked in Laboratory Information Systems, Order Entry Systems, Operations and Radiology Systems. I recently built the order entry database for a brand new, $300 million state of the art trauma center with a level III NICU that just opened May 6, 2007 in Independence, MO. That project was immediately followed by the opening of another brand new hospital in Lee's summit, MO.
In August of 2007 I transferred from the Midwest Divsion HCA IT&S to the West Florida Division of HCA IT&S, Inc. I was in charge of building, maintaining and testing several databases used by the three hospitals in my zone, as well as implementing Computerized Physician Order Entry in the emergency department at all three hospitals.
I have since moved on to the wonderful world of consulting and am totally loving it! I am a Senior consultant for maxIT Healthcare, LLC. Sometimes I travel, but currently I am working from home, which is a pretty sweet deal. I can spend my lunch break lounging by my pool and watching the palm trees sway in the breeze.
