Robyn's Story
Life
As much as I tried, I never quite made it out of NJ! Not permanently anyway. I finished undergrad in Bloomsburg, PA in 1996, started teaching in South Jersey, and I'm now a very strict 7th grade Reading teacher in South Plainfield. Many of my former teachers would have a field day with that I'm sure. Got married in 1997, bought a house in Piscataway in 1998, still hang out with the Burke family, Tara Gentile is one of my bestest friends, and am currently filling my home with animals-2 cats, 2 dogs, 1 fish. I've recently gotten involved in dog rescue and it is very quickly becoming my passion. More than likely I will have a foster dog in my house at any given time too. I'm becoming so domestic, it's frightening...yeah right! Considered a move to Colorado and though it is not completely out of the picture it is certainly on hold for a while. Had a baby girl, Riley Virginia, on March 9, 2003 who is the light of my life. She is completely amazing in every way-smart and beautiful of course. ns and showed up 10 weeks early! After 26 days in the NICU he was home for the holidays and is doing better everyday. Got a free pass and clean bill of health from all specialists in Jan. 2008. Got my masters going back to school nights at Rutgers for psychology, and though it seems like I was there forever, I finally finished in Aug. 2005. I was hoping to make the switch from classroom to office and become a guidance counselor sooner rather than later (hear that Mr. Blenke{high school guidance}-his first words to me were, "Not another Mangin"), but now I am thinkiing of getting out of teaching all together. My brother finally got the heck out of Jersey and made the move to NC with his wife and twin babies in April 2008. Mom and Dad have both had their share of health issues but are still plugging away, driving me as insane if not more than they did in high school. Get out into the woods whenever I can. Love to hike and camp as much as possible. Still love to get up to Hacklebarney to splash around in the waterfalls and down the shore for some wave jumping. Would love to hear from some of you guys.
