Rod's Story

Life The greatest day in my life was when my twin girls were born. Their names are, Haley and Emily. They are six years old. This year the twins are enjoying their first year of preschool. They go two days a week. They love playing with kids their age and doing homework. With what little spare time is left, my wife and i take our old cars to different car shows. My wife has a 1976 Cobra II Mustang, just like the one from charlies angels. Her license plate is:c angle. Terri(my wife) has worked for Kroger since she graduated high school. After the girls were born she went to a part time schedule so we wouldn't have to use any type of a day care service. I own a 1987 Speedster Mustang convertible. I bought it used in 1990. I decided in the mid ninety's to make a show car out of it and picked up a weekend job to be able to afford to customize it. I finished the car in the late ninety's and it has been in one car magazine.(Mustang Monthly August 2002 edition) Our lives are very middle class, but we love our family time together. School I would by far say the fun times were working at hardees after school. I got to meet other new students i wouldn't normally ever meet. I had the craziest times there! David Glasscock brought in a cassette for me to hear. He said she was a brand new pop artist. Her name was Madonna. Ten other kids from school worked there due to, mrs.Payne and the after school program set up to teach kids about a first job. As far as teachers,...Expand for more
Mr.Denning and mrs.Weldon helped me the most. Most of the classes i took were business ones. I wanted to be a state trooper. My younger brother Shawn, ended up being the policeman in Pensacola, Florida. I was always busy after school. i was also in 4H. I was a junior counciler for camp for a solid week. Leeann Jones was my biggest crush. About a week after we broke up, my parents bought a house right down the road from hers. We sat together on the bus for the next three years. Greg Pickle and i raced our cars down highway 15 to school. Greg had a mustang and i had a cutlass supreme. Chris Landsdale had a M.g. and lived close to us. Art class with mr.Covey was awesome. We were allowed to listen to albums. Most of the time we would listen to Def Leppards pyromania. Man that album rocked. The only things i would have done different, would have been to ask out more girls. I had a few crushes i didn't follow through with. If i knew then what i know now... Workplace Five months after high school was over, i put an application in for a job at a box factory in lexington, ky. International paper. Twenty two years later i am still here. I have almost run every machine in the building. I love what i do and am not too far from home. The job is not very stressfull and one of my best friends from high school, Don Roglitz also works with me. When i finally get my thirty years in the plant, i will be fifty three. My twins will be seventeen. Is life strange or what...
