Rod's Story

Life My time at SPHS was good but mostly desperate, maybe it was for everyone. I do regret not joining in on more extra curriculum activities. A foster parent for 25 years, I married another foster parent in 1994. Between the two of us we've had almost 500 kids come through our house. About 20 or so come around asking for money from time to time so I guess that's how many kids we have. We love them all. I was in the Air Force for one hitch and went straight into the computer industry. I hold a BS in Computer Science, then I took a...Expand for more
right turn and got a Masters of Divinity, and in December 2017 completed my Doctorate in Theology. My ministry is a type of acting I dubbed Performance Preaching - I preach (around the Boston area) as a Biblical character. My Job I work for the Veterans Administration in the IT department. Mostly I work on the Cisco gear and special projects. I'm also a part time actor. Have published one book, and teach at the college level. College All night school and I'll never finish, it'll be a work in progress for as long as I breathe.

I'm still trying to figure out why this woman went on a date with me, let alone let me kiss her. Then, would you believe it? She actually married me!! (and doesn't seem to mind if I come home)

When she said she was going
The poets and philosophers have been trying to tell us for thousands of years that life is fleeting and tomorrow is not guaranteed. Do we listen?

It's possible, although unlikely, I was one these guys. If so it would have been just before going to to OCS.
While I'm in a reflective mood I wanted to share this with all my friends. I can't remember the exact year (maybe someone else knows) but sometime around 1985 when my son was about ten years old he overheard me say I always
Just wanted to share:
Today was Ari's first day back to school and she left me a short message. It's amazing how the simplest gesture makes the warmest heart.

God allowed me the privilege of cradling my mother’s head today as she breathed her last. Her children and a grandson were with her and her passing was practically unnoticeable. I had been feeling her shallow breath against
Hi John, Glad to have you as a cellmate.
My sister and I were going through old photos yesterday and came across this one of me with (we think) my very first fish, and (we think again) it was taken in the summer of 1960. We know it was taken at the Varney/Thompson
