Rod is from Everest, Kansas. He is married with Dr Nancy Francisco Stewart. His schools include Everest High School, Horton High School. He later attended College of Emporia (History/Political Science, Physical Education BA) , and Northwest MO State Univ, MS in Athletic Admin. He is retired, after 46 years of coaching basketball. Lives on Lake Livingston in Texas
