Rodney's Story

After graduation in 1960 I worked at Brandt Cabinet works. Enlisted in the Air Force in May 1962, serving 34 years. I retired in 1997. During my Air Force career I served in Vietnam where during my flying assignment under severe hazardous conditions I was awarded the DFC and the Air Metal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters. I also served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm stationed in Abu Dubai and the Middle East arena. I have been married to my wife (Terry Ann Nettnin) for the past 40 years. ina to be closer to our families. My Dad and Step-Mom (my biological mom died when I was 2) owned the store on the corner of Baltimore and Mulberry. I had 2 brother (Jim and Greg, both South High grads) and a Step-Brother John Snyder. Sadly to say they are all now deceased. I now suffer from an inherited disease (Amyloidosis) which my father and numerous Aunts and Uncles had and have passed on before me. I'm now bedridden and under constant care from my wife Terry. All being said, we have had an interesting and diverse life. I played golf for many, many years after lettering in golf at South High. Blessings to all.
