Rodney's Story
Life
After doing 6 1/2 years in the Army I got out in 1985 and married Cyndi Cannell (1979). We have 3 children Tom 21, Twins Alec and Christopher 19. We lived in Grand Junction from 85-99. While there Cyndi got her Nursing Degree from Mesa State and I got a BA in Psychology. We moved to Zuni NM in 1999, when Cyndi got a job with the Indian Health Services. While there we started working on our Masters Degrees. I got mine in Dec. 2002, Cyndi got hers in December 2004.I'm such a glutton for punishement I'm working on my PhD and have completed all my course work, now on to the dissertation. working as a family therapist for an agency out of Santa Fe and Cyndi works Nurse Practitioner for the VA in Albuquerque. In Jan of 2007 our youngest son Christopher was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma. After a 9 month battle Christopher passed away October 3, 2007, the day before his 19th Birthday.
School
After high school I spent 6 1/2 years in the Army. In 1995 I went back to school getting my BA in Psychology from Mesa State. I got my Masters in Counseling in December of 2002 from Western New Mexico University. I attended WNMU at the Gallup Graduate Studies Center. I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Human Services at Capella University
