Lee's Story

Life Completely retired now. Working at home and doing pretty much what I want to do. There is always a project I am working on. Challenging myself upgrading and building gaming class PC's. Enjoy playing with ethernet and Wifi networks to make serious bandwidth improvements so each device has maximum throughput capabilities. Further expanding on what I learned when I went to work at Bellsouth.net in Atlanta, Georgia from July 96-Feb 2004. My last two years in the USAF prior to prior to retirement in December 1995, I became certified as a Novell Network Administrator. The USAF paid for the classes because of the need to move away from their mini-mainframe/dumb terminal computer system I was managing. After retirement, I started working in the Atlanta area as a contractor doing desktop support and LAN administration at Forces Command. Met some good people and was invited to work at Bellsouth.net in the summer of 1996. I eventually became the LAN administrator at there was then moved to Sysops to work in their Dedicated Web-Hosting Product. Bellsouth out-sourced our group to EDS in 2001. Got tired of being on-call 24/7/365 and wanted my life back. Left EDS in early 2003 and became self-employed working on motorcycles. Things were slow and decided to apply for a job at Traxxion Dynamics Motorcycle Suspension Service in Jan 2004. Stayed with them until 2016. Times were good and I met a lot of very good people while there. Learned quite a bit about Penske and Ohlins motorcycle shocks and also helped to develop ...Expand for more
and put into production the Traxxion Dynamics AK-20 motorcycle fork cartridge kit. The facility was upgraded a couple of times and became a full blown machine shop with 6 Haas CNC mills or lathes. At that time they became a complete manufacturing facility of the cartridge kits and eventually many Gold Wing and Harley upgrade parts. Advised on and sold state of the art suspension components to motorcycle enthusiasts all over the world. To say those years were a serious adventure would be fairly accurate. From race-bikes and working at Daytona to traveling with key personnel at Traxxion Dynamics to multiple locations and working on Goldwing suspension upgrades it was brutal on body and soul. In 2014 I had to slow down and stop working on motorcycles. Had a complete right knee replacement and two years later I decided I was ready to retire from my final career experience. Now, I have plenty of time to do whatever I set my mind to except crawling under vehicles or climbing extension ladders to paint the exterior or clean the gutters of my home. Life has dealt me a fair hand for the most part. I've had many downs but the ups have been huge blessings. The good Lord above has also blessed me with two sons and a daughter. They have in-turn further blessed me with 6 grandchildren. I wish only that I could see them more often. This weekend I will see all of them for the holidays. It's been a wonderful life so far. I thank God every day for being given one more day to live and breath in this remarkable world.
