Rodney's Story
After reading Andy's story how can you not be compelled to share? Well, maybe not as much as he did.
But speaking of Andy, after getting a start in home ownership from my parents when we bought a duplex in Walteria, my wife and I bought a house in Lakewood. Our neighbors moved in the month before us and we developed a close friendship. John played baseball for Lakewood HS and we soon met many of his friends. One of them is Dan G. t Aloha Stadium. The Islanders were the SD Padres AAA team. Dan was the Right Fielder on that team. He went to UCLA after Lakewood HS and played baseball with Andy Center. He did mention he was as big a clown as he was an excellent pitcher (Dan's exact words). Small world isn't it. Never know who you'll run into who knows someone who knows you. Not that I really knew Andy, he played football and I ran cross-country, he played baseball and I ran track. He was popular, I went to school.
