Roger's Story
Growing up, no matter what I tried (legally) to have friends, no one liked me. I was always alone. I didn't know how to fight so anyone could bully me. At 17, even though I didn't get into drugs or drinking (or gangs like my younger brother did) & I was about a C or D student & even my parents didn't seem to want me around. All they'd ever say was "We don't like your attitude" but when I asked what that meant, they wouldn't answer. As a result of so much bullying, my dad got got a weight-bench for all of us kids & I lifted all summer. During 9th grade, no body bothered me. I continued lifting & building & I've been the strongest person at almost every job I've had since. After 10th grade, in June or July 79, my parents told me that I had to check out which branch of the military I wanted to go to. When I came home from the physical in Oakland Ca., my mom was surprised that I'd actually signed & had a report date. She said, "We just wanted you to see that we could send you if we wanted to". ing Desert Storm. Honorable discharge as an E5, sergeant. I've been married twice & divorced twice when I learned that each was a con-artist. Second divorce was in 02 & I've been alone since. I tried dating but OH WELL. In 06, it took me from March to Nov to read the NIV bible cover-to-cover & that changed my life. I've found that living for God has improved my life more than I'd ever imagined possible. I've lived in Montana since July 99 because I just hate being in big cities & I drive a cement mixer. I've visited Sac a few times to see family but I like the small-town "feeling". God brought me a terrific lady in 010. I love working with steel, wood, plastic, leather, automotive repairs, household repairs & inventing things much more than dealing with people. I have to laugh when someone calls me un-American for not liking sports or alcohol but when I asked, they said they don't know how to build, make or repair much of anything. So far no one has said they invent things too. I've done a few ministries including church drama dept. and I get to talk to many, many customers about God as I deliver mud to job sites. It's fun to glorify God!
