Roger's Story
Life
Soon after college I moved to Southern California. I have always loved the beach, surfing, sail boarding, and racing Hobie Cat Catamarans (as well as other types of speedy catamarans). I have won a couple of national titles and have a room full of trophies. I've attended 40 major events to include Nationals and World Championships. I even went to the Olympic Trials which was really special. But it is hard to compete against teams that do this as a job. How fun would that be!! I still sail today, we just won a local event last weekend in San Diego sailing on a 18' Hobie Tiger, a speed machine with spinnaker.
I married my wife Christine, who was introduced to me by a fraternity brother. We have three kids: Marina 10, Austin 9, and Alec 1.
School
Growing up a Navy Brat my family was always on the move. Finally we were in one spot for a longer period of time. I went to First Colonial HS in Va. Beach from 8th Grade to 11th Grade. My Dad retired and can you believe it, we moved my Senior Year? Life in Va. Beach and at FC was so wonderful that I have always considered that my home. ul friends. I was also on the District Champion Gymnastics Team, also a great experience under Coach Fields. Unfortunately when the family moved to Salem, Oregon, my Senior year, I spent most of the time missing my friends and girl friend Candy Powell. I went to Sprague HS in Salem and did many of the same activities, but it was not FC. But by the time I went to College I was back in full swing, however.
College
I went to Oregon State University and received a BS. I joined Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, which was a fanstastic experience making many life long friends, many of whom I would love to find again. I was very active in the house as well as on campus. How great is college, especially in the Greek System? There are always things to do and friends to do them with. Brothers to get rowdy with as well as cram for exams with. OSU has a very strong Greek Systems, and the sorority girls and the parties were unforgetable. Definitely one of the highlights of my life.
Workplace
I am a Senior Market Manager for Kimberly Clark Professional. I have been with KC for about 20 years, wow that is a long time! I left KC which is a long story, and now I am working with a Foodservice Broker, managing their disposables side of the business.
