Roger's Story
Life
I am working as a Paramedic in Fort Bend County, just outside of Houston. I am married with two children, a 12 yr old boy and 10 yr old girl. Yes I started late. It's a great way to be a kid again. Harder now that I'm 50. I have also worked as an emergency room nurse at Memorial SW, in Houston. Things got a little busy with both jobs, the kids need me more, so I'm down to just one job. Life has changed. As of Feburary 2008, we have moved to Columbus, OH. Cindy took a job with the University Hospital after being recruited by a doc she worked with at MD Anderson.
I retired after 28 yrs as a paramedic and will probably return to the hospital as an RN once we get well settled in our new home in Powell, a suburb of Columbus.
Quite a change for a life long Texan with snow on the ground much of the time and temperatures in the teens, sometimes in single digits. The kids have had two stay at home snow days. They hate it - not!
The snow is beautiful, can't wait for spring. We traded oppressive heat for much of the summer in Houston, for a season of cold in Ohio.
Thought I would post a photo taken just after I wiped out after sledding run. Hopefully, it will discourage all those hot singles, only 23 miles away, from harassing me so much!
