Roger's Story
Life
Well I don't live in VA anymore but I have traveled all over for work. I'm living in Tennessee near the Cumberland Plateau and in Sanford, NC, when I'm not working out of state. Married three times now with one kid. Famous last words (I will not do this again.) No more traveling, time to put down roots for my own sanity. When I left my home in 1979, I moved to Wilmington, NC and lived there for 5 years, and went to Cape Fear Community College,got married to my first wife. I began work at Carolina Power & Light. I worked in Nuclear Power for 16 years.
In 1984 I moved to Oak Island to be close too work. Been here most of those years since. In 1989 my first wife became the ex as she couldn't keep her pants on when around other men. 5 months later wife #2 came onto the scene and I married her in 1990. We had a child 14 months later and he still is the highlight of my life. Grant came along but my job left(restructuring) and thus the long odysey began of taking jobs in and out of state. to Oak Island but all was not good in my marriage as my wife began running up huge debts. In 2003 I went to Arkansas where my wife really put the screws to me with my finances and basically left me penniless. It was then that I found an engineer who took me in and decided she wanted a little more of me than just a house guest. The woman was my boss and I shoulda known better. Thus came the start of my undoing. A year and 3 months later my wife got the phone call I hoped would never be made and I was forced to tell all. I moved back home and for 4 months all went well. Then a late night call to the ex girlfriend after the Red Sox won the series changed it all forever. I hate caller ID cuz I hung up as soon as I dialed. Too late. She called a week after I got home and then wife #2 began to see somebody and put me through hell. So now with divorce papers in hand I'm back on my own. Moving to a new town and leaving everyone I love in the world behind.
No accomplishments to speak of. Now it's my turn to make things happen! A new wife is in my life. She sure is swell. We've been together for four years.
