Roger's Story
TO MY BROTHER AND HIS GOLD DIGGING, SO CALLED WIFE--- "STAY OUT OF MY LIFE"
I had a severe intracerebral/hemorrhagic stroke (due to high blood pressure) on June 29, 2005. I have undergone brain surgery due to the stroke.
I was in the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit at Henry Ford Main in Detroit, from 6/29-7/25/2005.
My new Wife has been taking care of me since my discharge. We were married on August 7, 2005. We have been together for over 3 years before our marriage. I believe God brought us together.
I was paralyzed on my left side, which makes it even more difficult for me as I am left handed. I am slowly recovering. Regaining use of my left leg came back first. I almost died 5 times since the day of my stroke. I have other medical complications now as well. I am in 4th stage going on 5th stage kidney failure, in which there are only 5 stages before complete kidney failure.
The one thing that was a plus for me is the fact that I have been body building for 30 years.
My rehabilitation involves my knowledge of muscle building, along with my wifes knowledge of occupational/physical therapy.

They had to remove his right temporal lobe of his brain. I was there every single day while he was in intensive care. And I WAS ALSO THERE, during every day of his stay at the nursing home, sometimes all night, because of his eratic behavior, only I, FOR SOME REASON, could control. He had 5 close calls with death during the month of July 2005 and October 2005. He has recovered quite remaculously due to all the complications they said he would suffer. He can only walk with a cane and suffers foot drop in the left foot. He was a body builder for 30 years and has lost the use of his left arm and hand, BUT that does not stop him from progressing. He gains strength in all that he does 'MIND AND BODY' and DOES NOT STOP TRYING. I thank God for his ambition and everything that the doctors and life have given him.

UPDATE 1/09/07....I walk much better but only with a cane. I lost left periphial vision in both eyes and left my arm and hand are still basically paralyzed. My memory was always soooo great, but I find myself forgetting alot of things. That has to do with the fact I had my right temporal lobe of my brain removed due to my stroke.
(2/06/08) Today Roger had 2 grand mal seizures within an hour, each lasting 20 minutes.
(3/11/08)....I have had quite a few set backs on my journey to recovering. Seems like every time I take a few steps forward, something goes wrong and knocks me back 15 steps.
I will continue trying to move forward.
I get depressed sometimes & I will make it through, Because I know God is watching over me.
My wife is still hanging in there caring for me 24/7. Why it doesn't wear her out I'll never know. She takes care of me plus anything and everything around the house. Thank God her Dad taught her alot of things like repairing cars, plumbing, Well let's put it this way, there's nothing she won't challenge to fix and is darn good at it. I thank God for bringing her into my life.
(07/02/08) The seizures Roger had on 2/06/08, has caused more complications. His right foot feels cold all the time and he has a twitching in his right arm. He also has now been diagnosed with Tinnitus in which is a sound heard in the head. We are having a hard time finding a medication that works without so many side effects of which he has a reaction to most medications.
He has also suffered with an excruciating burning pain in the left side that begins at his shoulder blade & extends down to his toes. After 2 1/2 years of searching for an answer has been diagnosed with post stroke pain which is caused by damaged nerves in the brain by the stroke. Only 8% of stroke victims suffer with this debilitating end result. This pain only intensifies with time and weather. There's nothing that can be done except try to manage the pain with medications.
