Roger's Story
Life
The year after graduating Skyline, I married my high school sweetheart, Elizabeth. I gained enough experience to become a professional computer programmer and project manager. I used those skills to work my way through the University of Texas at Dallas.
I graduated from UTD in 1984 and joined Arthur Andersen as an auditor. I obtained my CPA while at Andersen. Most of my clients were large companies, and I was recruited by one of them, Greyhound Lines, in 1987. I worked for Greyhound as Corporate Controller from 1987 - 1990. ime, my wife of 19 years and I divorced.
In 1994, I met Teresa, and we have been together for nine years.
In 1995, I joined Excel Communications as Director of Financial Planning and Reporting. I was with Excel when we IPO-ed the company. In 1996, I left Excel and have worked for several other companies as Chief Financial Officer.
From August 2001 - July 2002, I was President of The 500, Inc. (a non-profit fund-raising group for the arts of Dallas County). The 500, Inc. is the producer of the annual Artfest celebration at Fair Park.
Tere and I own a home in Plano and I'm currently participating in Leadership Plano - Class 21.
