Roger's Story

Life I left JC in 1979 and joined the US Air Force where I stayed active for 10 years as an aircraft mechanic on fighter aircraft. After I seperated I worked as a contractor for Lockheed support systems in Lubbock Tx. I went from there to Waco Tx to work for Raytheon Aircraft Co. Then I went to college to study as a Radiologic Technologist. I've been doing x-rays and cat scans since my graduation, and still live in the Waco area. Military I spent approx. 4 years in Lubbock Tx at Reese AFB working on T-38 Aircraft, from there I went to Alamogordo NM at Holloman AFB to continue working on AT-38B aircraft for a little over 4...Expand for more
years. I took my first overseas assignment to Okinawa Japan, It was the best assignment of all. To tell the truth I didn't fit in very well in Junction City, thats why I went into the military. It was the best move I could have made. I learned more and it boosted my self confidence. I was going to make it a career until they started downsizing due to the BRAC. Promotions were allmost out the window.I did know several people who stood out as exceptional in Junction, I'll name a few : Robert Courtney, Michael Hall,Mark Harmon,Keith Owens, Mr. McDonald, Mr. Hux (my Air Force inspiration) just to name a few that I do remember.
