Roger's Story
My father did not speak english till he stqrted school and then had to quit school and go to work ten hours a day when he was 12. He did not talk to me nor allow much talk in our home---I feel like I had something like mild autism and often, through my life, did not have the words for a situation till recalling it years later. I am also very much my own person. It took me 14 years to earn a batchelors degree because I worked at a job I liked and I only took courses that looked interesting rather than the ones needed for a specific degree. Anotber four years for a master of divinity at San Francisco Theological Seminary was more of an adventure to seek out answers to the ultimate questions that life presents. elieve the spice in life is to look for the right questions to hold regarding our fragile existence on this little piece of space dust---and to continue to inform those questions. I have learned that no-one is THE expert who has the answers, in religion or science. I am fairly well informed in all the various aspects of existence and it is all very interesting. I think "mystery" is the best word to describe how I see life. Anyone with the final answer has stopped being honest. Life if too complex for anyone to know THE Answer---it is all theory and speculation. Theory leads to many practical applications and most of these applications eventually become worn out and must be discarded and theories evolve and open the door to new practical tools---materially, spiritually, and religious.
