Roger's Story
Starting in June '64 would make sense, I guess. I jumped on a bus and 97 hours later arrived in Port Angeles, WA. (kinda near Sequim). I worked as trail crew in Olympic National Park, part of the time cutting a swath through the rainforest so that Justice William O. Douglas and his child bride could walk through with an entourage for a photo opp.
Then, in the Fall, started school at Colorado College (in Zoology). Finished there and stayed in Colorado for the next twenty years, teaching sciences in Cripple Creek - almost ghost town on t...Expand for more
he back of Pikes Peak, then playing guitar around ski areas and working at the ABC-TV affiliate in Colorado Springs. Met my future wife, went to Greece for a year (teaching English), came back, went to grad school in video production at Ohio U, got on the faculty there and recently retired here in Athens (Ohio). My wife retires this year. My 25 year old daughter traipsed about Southeast Asia on her 26th last fling before entering the economy (getting a job). She's currently setting up her own life in Carbondae, CO.Life is spectacular.
