Roger's Story

Life I retired from S.W.Bell Telephone after 31 years of service I now own and operate 2 different business in Burnet Tx. The main business is Custom Metal Design where I design and make entrance gates, fireplace screen's,metal furniture and a lot more. The second business that i have is Lawns By Roger This is a business that keeps me active outside I enjoy being out doors, hunting and fishing I was married to my first wife for 16 years and then divorced. I was single for about 5 years and then remarried. I have been married to my present wife for another 16 years and I think this one will last While married to the first wife, I built and restored classic 55-57 chevys. and t birds along with corvetts. I built a 55 chevy show car, which I showed through out texas in 1981 The car was featured in 4 different magazines and won the Mid America Division for "early cons. hardtop The car also won the same class for the International Show Car Association for the United States The car also won Houston Car Show for best paint I campained the car for 1 year, and it was never beat. The car was sold during my divorce , and I have no idea were it is now My wife and I wanted to get out of the hussle and bussle of living in a big city, so we moved to Burnet Tx. about 11 years ago My wife is a color tech. and Hair Dresser working in Austin and driving to burnet each day I have one ...Expand for more
son Kenneth and one grandson Chandler They live in Smithville Tx. where my son owns his own business of installing and designing overhead doors for commercial companys all in all my life is pretty good, and the lord has blessed my household in many ways I am in the process of completing a 1961 chevy impala bubbletop complete with a 409 cu in 425 hp motor 4 speed positraction rearend and factory a/c I hope to have the car finished by Aprial, in time for the Burnet Bluebonnet festival which is aprial 8 fast forward to 4-20-09 wife and I are still living in Burnet The car is finished ( you never really finish them ) anyway it has been shown app. 45 times and only beat 4 times I have 2 magizens talking about doing an article on the car, which is for sale thinking of building a coupe now 33 - 37 ford ?? fast forward to 2010 now own a 32 ford 3 window coupe, which I have done a lot of reworking to since tradeing for it about 1 year ago I have shown it app 15 times and have won 13 times I am now in the progress of rebuilding a 57 chevy for a customer fast forward to 2011 57 in app 85 % done car is going back all org. with the exception of adding disc brakes,ralley wheel,a/c, and a later radio car is a numbers matching car with the org. color on the outside interior will be the factory org. from 1957 yes that is how good the interior is car will be hard to beat in any show
