Rogetta's Story
Life
I moved from Hickman Co in August 1991 to continue my education at the University of TN - Martin. There I met a fellow rodeo competitor on the UTM Rodeo Team...a boy from Ozark, MO. We fell in love and in July 1993, moved back to his hometown and were married. I finished my education at (Southwest) Missouri State University, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, in 1994. Upon graduation, I pursued a career in business sales and training, and then went into a marketing directorship for a local residential care facility. Regrettably, the marriage didn't last, but we remained friends and I stayed in MO.
In 1997, I remarried. I went back to school, and in 1998, I obtained my Missouri Teaching Certification in Business Education and assumed a grant coordinator position within a local school district. We moved to Jasper, MO, in July of 2000, where my husband became Superintentdent of Schools and I worked for a local community college.
Upon leaving Jasper and getting divorced for a second time in late 2004, I moved to the Tulsa, OK area, and worked for an educational n...Expand for more
on-profit. In early 2006, I was offered a position to return to the Springfield, MO area and became the executive director of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri. It was one of the most rewarding position I have ever held; however, in August 2007, the national office for Make-A-Wish restructured some of the local chapters and moved our operations to the St. Louis area. I remain in the Springfield area, where I live on my little farm in Everton, MO, and I now spend time working with local community betterment programs and school initiatives for our town's growth. I have also assumed the directorship of a small nonprofit in Ozark, MO, which provides dental care to underprivileged children. It is a newly formed organization experiencing tremendous growth and serves a mission of which I can truly be passionate.
Personally, I remain single with no children. I compete professionally in rodeos across the country and train barrel horses. I also enjoy riding my new Harley and traveling around the country. I have two dogs and two horses. In addition to work, those all keep me quite busy.
