Rolf's Story
Life
It's been a lot of years since EYCI. I'm now married (since 1993) with two kids (at McGregor and Cosburn). I work for the Ontario Government in Information Technology, and have been for the past 18 years. Just 14 more years until I can retire!!!
I have some fond memories of my EYCI years. I still have close friendships that I developed at George Webster, Crescent Town School, Oak Park and EYCI. EYCI has changed a lot since 1982!!! A new design that lacks the elegance of the original (especially the old big windows!!!), in my view.
It's interesting to see how many people are on this website - names that I recognize. I guess it's human nature to want to revisit old memories - we really do become our parents, at least in certain aspects - reminiscing and perhaps romanticizing the "old days", and experiencing a growing curiosity to see what people have done with their lives so far - especially at this "mid life" point. Curious indeed!
School

College
Spent a lot of years at UofT trying to complete an AstroPhysics degree and a History and Philosophy of Science degree (TWO Honours B.Sc's - what was I thinking?!?!?), and in the end getting an IT-related job offer with the government and saying - "sure why not", and then never bother going back to complete those degrees!
Oh well...that's life....
I'll probably try to finish at least one of those degrees in the next decade! Tried a few courses (math) over the last few years but couldn't handle the work load PLUS family life PLUS full time job PLUS mortgage, etc...! One forgets how few responsibilities (and how much free time) one really had during those University years. One also forgets how darn YOUNG those University kids are. In the recent classes I attended, I graduated EYCI before most were even born !!! LOL!
