Ron's Story
I graduated from Buffalo State in 1971. I've been married twice ( apparently I'm not very good at it.) I have four beautiful children who have made it successfully to adulthood ( they are the best thing about me). Three daughters and one son. Regan, Lexis, Elsa, and Jaxon. I also have two beautiful grandchildren, Cody and Cassidy Jones, something else I didn't expect to see. I taught school from '71 to '77.My partner and I had a Hobie sail shop on Lake Chautauqua from 71 to 77. We moved to Crested Butte Colorado in '77 in time for the 50 yr. drought. surfing. I spend December in Denver, where I am a professional, real-bearded Santa.All my boyhood dreams came true and I look just like Santa Claus. I've been Santa for 13 Christmas's. The children are tons of fun, when they see a real beard, they lean in hard! This might be the real Santa! Every summer for the last 10 years I have been running a sailing program at Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Center, the same camp where I worked my summers in high school. It's a bit like time travel. Again, the young people make it worth doing. I'm honestly surprised that I've lived this long. Most people didn't think I'd live to see thirty. I'll be in Western New York all summer, let me know if you want to go for a sail.
