Ron's Story

After leaving school in 1972, I worked for a year and joined the Marine Corps in 1973 where I spent the next 3 decades stationed in several states and several tours of duty in the far east. In 1973 I married my high school sweetheart, Jane Homan, and we have shared a happy life together for the past 45 years. My last tour of duty was in the Pentagon where I retired in 2000 after 28 years of service. y, I spent the next 10 years working on military aircraft as a electrical systems contractor. I now work in a facility that overhauls military aircraft used by the Marines, Navy, and Air Force. I do the type of work I enjoy most minus the camouflage uniform. While serving i attended colleges where I was stationed but found that I would rather repair the electrical malfunctions on a Harrier jet or Huey helicopter more so than conjugating verbs so I felt no need to pursue a college degree. Life has been good but if I had one wish it would be to be 18 again and enlist to serve with a new generation of young Marines. Semper Fidelis!
