Ron's Story

Life In 2004, I co-founded Pantera Capital Management, a global macro hedge fund, after spending much of the previous four years traveling overseas. In 2013, we converted to an investment firm focused exclusively on ventures, tokens, and projects related to blockchain tech, digital currency, and crypto assets. In 2016, I retired and moved to the East Coast to be closer to my family. In 2000, I retired from Tiger Management, the largest hedge fund in the world. I began my career as an economist on the staff of the Secretary of the Treasury, subsequently becoming Chief Economist at Laird. I graduated from Harvard College in 1962 and received an MA from Fletcher in 1963 and an MBA from Harvard in 1966. My wife was in charge of political strategy for SEIU, the largest union in the country, and headed the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Our daughter has two children and is a partner at a NY public relations firm. Our son is a writer and director.
