Ron's Story
Hello Pioneers, What a fabulous life I'm living. I have been blessed. God is so good to me. It's had many bumps in the road of life. Worked at McDonald's (on Biscayne Blvd.) when I was 16, 17 and 18 years old. Spent that money on flying lessons at Opa Locka airport and the rest is history.. Logged over 24000 hours as an Airline Pilot .and traveled around the world several times. To many the sky is the limit
to me it's home. Always loved coming home to the the greatest country in the world. The United States.
.I have two wonderful children and the most awesome Grandchildren.
Three quotes that I live by are.
"You're never wrong, to do the right thing.' Mark Twain, "It's not the years in your life It's the life in your years."
"Don't let the negative circumstances, be an excuse for not achieving. "
I attended William Jennings Bryan Elementary, Westview Jr. High and N.Miami Senior High. I Graduated from LSU (Louisiana State University) in Baton Rouge, La. where I earned Bachelor's degree. GEAUX TIGERS..
The book that I'm reading now is a terrific book titled, "...Expand for more
Character Carved In Stone." by Pat Williams.
These days I enjoy my grandkids, flying my plane, dancing, playing senior league softball, traveling, laughing and just enjoying life, Yes, I 'm still traveling ,I have a little cottage on St. John Island, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I enjoy spending time there, as often as possible.
I still live in Florida six .months and my home in the Virgin Islands six months.
Let me jog your memory for a moment. Do you recall WQAM radio ? Listening to Robey Young, Charlie Murdock and of course the lengendary great, Rick Shaw with his closing song every night at 9 pm, "Good Night My Love." If you get a chance, google and play, Good Night My Love by Ray Peterson. If that doesn't make you sentimental, then nothing will. I love music ( oldies especially ) I have a Jukebox in which I have a wide variety of music from Big Band, to Sinatra type, to Country to almost any type of hits. Uh ! No Rap though. Well ! I enjoyed going back in time with you.
As Elvis use to say, "Untill we meet again, adios and God Bless."
