Ron's Story
Life
After graduating St. Andrews Parish HS in 1976, Ron (Ronnie) Miller attended Limestone College in Gaffney, SC as a Music Education major. He met his lovely wife Cindy, an Elementary Education major. They married soon after Ron's graduation in 1980. Both Ron and Cindy were employed at Spartanburg School District Three. Ron served as a Band Director and Cindy taught Kindergarten. Cindy earned a Master's degree from Converse College and a Professional degree from USC, still teaching in District Three.
Ron now owns Hames Music in Gaffney SC, (if you have ever driven on I-85, it's the big music store next to the Giant Peachoid). Hames Music is one of the largest music companies in the US and Ron has a lot of terrific folks working for him there. Ron has also continued to play woodwinds professionally. s traveling throughout the Southeast. Ron plays often with his group, Grand Strand, specializing in Rhythm & Blues, Beach and Jazz. The group features a 4 piece horn section, with Ron on Saxophones and Flute.
He serves on several Boards and Clubs, including Kindred Spirits School, Rotary, Ruritans, and Boy Scouts.
Ron and Cindy's two children are Matthew (born 1985) and Jessica (born 1986). Matthew attends The Citadel in Charleston (a place where Ron swore was the last place he would subject himself to get a college education) and majors in Business. Jessica graduated as Salutatorian of her HS class with a 4.92 GPA (which makes Ron wonder if she is really his child), now attends Wofford College with plans for medical school.
The Miller's are members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Spartanburg, SC and have indeed been blessed by the Lord with a wonderful life together.
