Ron's Story
Life and Work
I was a professional musician until 1998. I then joined the Peace Corps and lived in a rural village in West Africa for two years. After that I came back to Houston and went to grad school to get a master's degree in psychology. I then moved to a very rural community in the interior of Alaska, where I worked as a psychotherapist for about 3 years, while studying for my doctoral degree in Psychology. do afterward and am now a licensed psychologist in Oakland, California with a private practice and also working for a group of methadone clinics. I am currently divorced and have a young daughter who lives with me full time. A dear old friend caught up with me through this site a while back (Thank you, Colleen!), so that was my inspiration to go ahead and fill out all the rest of this stuff and become a member.
