Ron's Story
After graduating from UNC with a degree in Market and Business Ed, I accepted position at Brighton High School teaching Marketing. While I was not excited about going to my home school, it turned out to be the one of the best decisions I ever made. The demographic of the high school was not that much different than when we attended, which suited me fine. My classes had a good representation of all skill levels. Students learned that the harder they worked the greater the chance of success at State and National DECA competitions. They quickly realized that success breeds success. ired after thirty one years. I worked two jobs most of the time including running an airline reservations night class that I partnered with United Airlines. I owned and managed a company that published a catalogue selling Marketing and Business videos and materials through a national mailing.
Retirement from BHS was bitter sweet. After retirement I managed to keep my fingers in teaching by doing workshops for the Colorado Workforce part time for six years.
I have been married for almost 45 years and have a son and daughter as well as five grandchildren. I enjoy playing golf three or four times a week, and traveling.
