Ron's Story
After teaching and performing for many years, I am still doing both. Because of an ocular problem I have had to give up playing professionally but still play with good, non-paying groups. Most recently with the Charlotte Civic Orchestra and the Carolinas Wind Orchestra (basically, a big concert band.) With the CWO I was able to visit Spain and we have trips to China, Italy and Prague scheduled for the next three years.

in Pretoria, South Africa. I visited them in Ethiopia (2002) and Uganda (2004) and hope to make it to South Africa when I retire in 2012.
My cousin, David Beveridge (SHS '69) lives near Prague and I visit him each time I am in Europe or on my way to or from Africa. While I played in an orchestra in Israel, I haven't been in any other part of Asia or Australia or South America. Those are on my list.
I live near Charlotte and teach strings in the Charlotte school system.
