Ron's Story
Thanks for dropping in...............
The following is a short summary of my journey through life .......
After high school life changed drastically
Mostly for the better.
My high school sweet heart,Waver, and
I parted ways.
Sold my 62 Vette.
The war in Viet Nam was on so I volunteered the draft
as did many of the BHS varsity football team.
Mel Barnes and I were assigned to the 25 th Lightening Bolt Division.
A great combat division.
We got lucky again.
Mel a tunnel rat and I a combat tracker dog handler.
We did our time and came home physically intact.
Then off to college for a year or so.
Rick Polikowski and I then fled to Aspen CO.
Worked construction and skied the winter.
Life was ...Expand for more
good.
Back to Southern Calif.
I was then Selected by SMPD and loved
my career for the next 30 years.
During this time I married, raised two step children and built a
home on Westlake Island In the city of West Lake Village.
I retired in 2000
played lots of golf, built high dollar hot rods,
remodeled several homes.
I still associate with some of the BHS football and basketball guys.
Gil Uribe, Mel Barnes, Randy Boeing, Bob Carter, Jim Knight,
Ed Grice, Ray Yocum, Steve Gullion and others.
I am currently remodeling my beach cottage in Malibu.
I am grateful to my God, family and friends.
Hope to see you at the Oct. 16, 2016 reunion.
Be safe
Best
