Ron's Story
Much has happened since 1973. A mere 11 years after that, I made a life changing decision to leave a cushy job with the phone company in order to follow a dream of a world where phones weren't tied to a wall, but carried around in everyone's pocket.
I've had the good fortune to work all around the world designing and building what is now the ubiquitous "cellular phone service". So that phone that you can't get away from, and the one your kids have their thumbs permanently attached to? You can blame me for getting that mess started!

red that I wrote a book (published in 2004), then promptly went back to work consulting to wireless data start ups. So I'm once again flying around the world (300,000 miles last year...) bringing new communications services to emerging markets.

Life has taken so many obtuse directions and paths I never considered, that I don't have the words to sum up my life as well as the Grateful Dead did on the American Beauty album of 1970 with the phrase: "what a long strange trip it's been".
